Report of the CGLP Seminar organised by IPA – Goa State Branch on 19 Jan 2025
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association—Goa State Branch organised a One-Day Seminar on “CGLP for the Pharma Industry” at ZSquare, Panaji, Goa, on January 19, 2025. The seminar was addressed by various experts from the pharmaceutical industry and covered various topics:
Good QC Laboratory Practices, by Mr. Praveen Naik, AGM, QC, Unichem Laboratories, Pilerne – Goa,
How to reduce OOS /Incidents in Laboratory, by Mr. Veerdhawal Kamble, GM QA, Glenmark Pharmaceuticals, Colvale – Goa,
Lean management and human errors in QC laboratory by Mr. Vinay Manerikar, Dy GM, QC, Zydus Lifesciences, Kundaim – Goa.
Nitrosamine impurities – Regulatory requirements, by Sandip Mahale, Manager, QA, Lupin Ltd., Verna – Goa
Recent advances in dissolution technology by Dr Umesh Banakar, Pharmaceutical Consultant, Banakar Consulting Services, Westfield, Indiana, USA
Mr. Sunil Dubey, CEO of Sotax India Pvt Ltd, gave an overview of the company’s latest advances and equipment.
This was followed by a Panel Discussion with the day’s speakers and was moderated by Dr. Banakar.
The seminar was attended by 120 participants from the pharmaceutical industries in Goa, besides invitees from various pharma industries. The prime sponsors for the seminar were Sotax India Pvt Ltd.
The programme was conceptualised and coordinated by Mr. Anant Naik, past President of IPA Goa. Ms Anushka Nair compered the programme, and Mr Salim Veljee, President, IPA – Goa State Branch, welcomed the gathering.

IPA – Goa organises One-Day Seminar on Excellence in Pharma Manufacturing & Packing
The Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) – Goa State Branch successfully conducted a One-Day Seminar for Pharma Production Professionals on “Excellence in Pharma Manufacturing & Packing” on 18th January 2026, at Panaji – Goa. The seminar, sponsored by ACG and Sotax India Pvt. Ltd. brought together around 100 pharma production, QA, and Engineering professionals from 25 pharma companies in Goa for a full day of knowledge sharing, practical insights, and industry interaction. The program focused on process optimisation, real-world manufacturing challenges, quality excellence, and productivity enhancement in pharmaceutical operations. The event was conceptualised by Mr. Anant Naik,
The event featured a distinguished panel of industry experts and veteran professionals, with Mr. Ganadhish Kamat delivering the keynote address. Technical sessions were delivered by Mr. Kushagra Goyal (ACG), Engg. Anand Kaudi (Glenmark Pharmaceuticals), Mr. Ruchir Shori (Teva Pharmaceuticals), and Dr. Rahul Aware (ACG) – who shared valuable insights on translating theory into efficient throughput and operational excellence.
An engaging expert panel discussion, moderated by Ms. Renee Amonkar, included senior professionals from leading pharmaceutical organisations -Mr. Nilesh Amonkar, Mr. Satyasheel Desai, Mr. Ajit Dhamaskar and Mr. Ganadhish Kamat – offering practical perspectives on current manufacturing and packing challenges.
Mr Salim A Veljee, President, IPA – Goa State Branch, welcomed the guests and participants. Dr Swati Keny compered the function. Several guests and invitees also graced the Seminar. These included – Mr. Rajendra Naik, Past President, IPA – Goa, Dr. Celina Nazareth, Principal, PES’ Rajaram & Tarabai Bandekar College of Pharmacy, Dr. Lalit Lata Jha, Dean & Principal, Parul College of Pharmacy, Mrs. Vanita Karpe, Pharma Consultant, Mr. Vinay Manerikar, QC Head, Zydus Lifesciences. Also present were Mr. Mangesh Chodankar, Vice President, & Mr. Raj vaidya, Treasurer of IPA – Goa State Branch.
Volunteers, Mr Vishal Murgutekar, Ms Pooja Naik, Ms Shikha Kelvekar, and Ms Tanishka Dhavjekar ensured the smooth functioning of the arrangements and the seminar.
The seminar was well received by participants and reinforced IPA’s commitment to continuous professional development and to advancing best practices in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
